Book on craftmanship of traditional Nepali painting launched

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 2: A book about the craftsmanship of the traditional Nepali painting, 'Craftmanship of the Nepali Traditional Painting' published by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts has been launched amidst a programme.

The book is written by veteran artists, Man Bahadur Dong, Purna Prasad Hyoju, and art writer, Devendra Thumkeli.  

The book has covered serious and essential aspects of traditional painting. It is interesting and a store of knowledge as it is written by the experts in the sector, said K. K. Karmacharya, Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, while launching the book last Friday.

He said, "The book, 'Nepali Traditional Painting: Craftsmanship' written by veteran artisans is filled with intense knowledge and covers interesting issues". It will be very helpful to understand Nepali original tradition arts."

I believe that this book will be fruitful for researchers, artists, students, and experts in the field of art, he said.

Gopal Chitrakar, Vice Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts said that this book came as an important work in the field of art.

He said, "The Book is fruitful in gaining sound knowledge about the original traditional art."
