95 per cent paddy plantation over in Bara

By Shiv Shankar Mishra, Kalaiya, Aug. 1: About 95 per cent of paddy plantation has been completed in the Bara district so far.

According to Agriculture Knowledge Centre Bara Office chief Jitendra Prasad Yadav, due to lack of labour and due to excessive water available field just about five per cent of the plantation remains till Monday. 

He informed that paddy plantation has been completed in a total of 46,000 hectors area of the field where Bhadaiya and Agahani both rainy paddy types have been planted. 

This year Bhadaiya was planted in 11,931 hectares and Agahani was planted in 34,165 hectares of field. 

Agriculture Development Officer and the Information Officer at the knowledge centre, Raj Narayan Shah informed that due to inadequate rainfall at the time of plantation this year's plantation become costly.
