Rain, snowfall likely in some places

Kathmandu, April 11: At present there is partial influence of westerly and local winds in the country. 

Due to its effect, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as most of the mountainous areas, are generally cloudy. 

Likewise, other hilly areas have partly cloudy weather while the Terai region largely has clear weather. 

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, this afternoon the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, including the country's mountainous regions, will generally be cloudy, while there will be partly cloudy weather in the hilly areas and the Terai of Koshi Province. 

There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning in some mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. 

Some areas in the Terai of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces are likely to experience strong winds. 

Similarly, tonight, the country's mountainous areas will be generally cloudy, hilly areas will be partly cloudy, and the Terai region will have clear weather. 

Light rain or snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning are likely in a few mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and in a few hilly locations of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. 

The Division has urged the general public in areas likely to experience rain and snowfall, as well as all transport operators in those regions, to adopt alert measures. (RSS)
