Chitwan, July 17 : Seven employees of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Bharatpur distribution centre have been arrested on the charge of thrashing and misbehaving with the district correspondent of Rashtriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) Krishna Acharya.
The employees had beaten Acharya on
Friday when he had reached their office in connection with collecting news on
getting information that the NEA employees were taking alcohol in the office
premises itself.
Those apprehended are Ananda
Bahadur Kunwar, Centre's supervisor, Diwachha Shah, senior metre reader Hemanta
Dhakal, foreman (electrical) Tulasi Devkota, accountant Manjil Man Shrestha,
metre reader Hem Shankar Chaudhary and accountant Hari Poudel. Paul was
arrested on Friday night itself.
District Police Office Chitwan's
spokesperson Narahari Adhikari said cases would be filed against them for
taking legal action.
The employees, who had been
consuming alcohol at the office premises itself, had beaten and misbehaved with
the RSS reporter. Acharya has a wound on his hand and the employees had torn
his clothes as well.
Acharya said he saved himself by
jumping over the closed gate and running away after the group itself started
thrashing him.
The employees had chased Acharya up to the office of the Chitwan Post daily, some distance from their office. The employees had also taken two mobiles from Acharya after beating him. (RSS)
