Kathmandu, July 17 : Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has extended his best wishes to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) to develop it as a leading news agency institution in South Asia.
In a message of best wishes to the
RSS on its video service, which is beginning from today, Minister Karki said
the RSS should develop itself as a leading institution not only in Nepal but
also in South Asia and has recalled its six-decade-long history as a source of
national and international news.
The Communications and Information
Technology Minister has also stated that the RSS has its unique identity in the
history of Nepal's journalism and has suggested that the RSS should ensure
reforms and timely changes in its services in line with the rapidly changing
context of information technology. "In the era of information and
technology, the RSS should make its services effective and dynamic as per the
demand of the time," according to Minister Karki.
Minister Karki has also wished for
sustainable and effective video service of the RSS adding that all the digital
media outlets including Nepal's televisions would benefit from the RSS video
