TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 30: The Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Study Center organized “Socio-Economic Implications of COVID-19
Pandemic in South Asia; Emerging Risks and Strategies for Future” Talk
Programme on the eve of the 75th Year of Independence celebrations.
The event was attended by people from different strata of society including educationists, politicians, intellectuals, social activists, journalists, writers as well as analysts. The aim of the event was to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the social & economic life of the people of South Asia and measures to minimize the overall effects of pandemic for the betterment of society, according to the press release of the Embassy.
During the event held on June 28, panelists highlighted the grave impact of COVID-19 in the South Asian region and suggested regional/ global cooperation to mitigate its effects on the social, economic and cultural life of the common people. They lauded the efforts of the Pakistan government in tackling the pandemic inefficient way.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Syed Haider Shah, welcomed the distinguished guests, and panelists and highlighted that pandemic is not an issue of a single country but a global challenge that requires regional & global efforts to make this world a safer place for our next generations, read the press release.
