By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 10: Nepal and the UK are set to
sign a labour agreement on employing Nepali nurses in the UK.
A draft of the agreement has been prepared by the committee
comprised of representatives from both countries.
The draft of the agreement was finalized after a series of
discussions between the representatives of the government of Nepal and the
Department of Health Services and National Health Service of the UK in addition
to the representatives from the British Embassy in Nepal.
Nepali nurses to be employed in the UK will not have to pay any
fees.
Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, and British Ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt held a discussion over the preparation for the labour agreement.
In the beginning, some 2,000 Nepali nurses will be provided employment in the UK.
