Woman goes missing with two children

Karnali, March 16: A mother and her two children have been out of contact since Sunday morning.

According to an information officer at the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mohan Jung Budthapa, Maya Kathayat from Piplegaun of Gurbhakot Municipality-11, Surkhet has been missing along with her 11-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son.

Her husband, Bhupendra Kathayat, filed a report with the police after they failed to return home. Following the report, a four-member security team, along with a local representative, began a search operation.

During the search, a bag, shawl, pair of slippers and a mobile phone believed to be belongings of Maya were found on the bank of Bheri River, about three kilometers from their home.

Police said that 35 personnel from the Area Police Office along with local residents are presently searching for the missing ones along the Bheri River and vicinity. (RSS)
