Kathmandu, March 16: Prime Minister Sushila Karki visited the District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu to inspect Public Announcement System (PAS) today.
The system aims to promote good governance, it is said. On the occasion, the PM inspected the entire system including office management. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and other senior officials of the government accompanied the PM.
It is said the PAS was launched as a model to make the service deliveries more systematic, transparent and citizen-friendly.
During the visit, the government was urged to expand this system into other government entities as well, said Chief District Officer Ishwor Raj Paudel. As he shared, it has been around three months since the system was launched and no complaints from service seekers were received as of now.
"A new model has been implemented to make service delivery good governance-friendly, accountable and transparent. This system has been developed with an objective of addressing the issues of good governance and transparency raised after Gen Z movement. It has helped in reduce the role of middleman," shared CDO Poudel. He further mentioned that an arrangement was in place to provide necessary information.
As per the scheme, the voice message is aired automatically at 9:45 am at the office. The national anthem is played before beginning regular service.
According to the authority, notices and messages are disseminated to service seekers every 10 minutes before break time. (RSS)
