30 injured in Doti bus accident

By Keshav Chandra Mahara, Dipayal, May 12: As many as 30 passengers have been injured when a bus met with an accident at Sanagaun of Purbichauki Rural Municipality-4 in Doti district this morning.

The bus was carrying people heading home for casting votes in the local level election scheduled for tomorrow.

The bus with registration number Supa Pra 01 001 Kha 3108 was heading to Bajura from Mahendra Nagar.

Bhola Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Doti district police office, informed that the accident occurred at about 5:45 am.

Of the injured, 16 are undergoing treatment at the district hospital where the remaining are getting treatment at a local clinic, according to the police. One seriously injured person, has been referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment.

The driver of the bus has been absconding and the police has stated investigated into the cause of the accident, said the DSP.
