Director of Great Stupa of Universal Compassion honoured

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 10: Director of the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion Ian Green has been felicitated for correcting the delusional information about the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.


Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign felicitated director Green for correcting the wrong information that Buddha was born in India and mentioning the correct information that Buddha was born in Nepal.



The Stupa is located at Bendigo in Australia. 


According to a press release of the Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign, the wrong information pasted in the stupa premises was found recently while performing a ceremony of lighting the Lakh Batti (a hundred thousand pieces of hand-woven cotton thread) on the occasion of the 2646th Buddha Jayanti (Buddha anniversary).

 

The Lakh Batti lighting was performed wishing for world peace.

 

Director Green was written to about the wrong information and he had readily corrected it.
