By Chandra Pandak, Taplejung, May 18: Four people were injured when a tractor met with an accident at Batase, Phungling Municipality-6 of Taplejung district. According to the police, a tractor with a registration number (Na 6 Ta 4743) heading towards district headquarters, Phungling Bazar from Suketar, veered off 20 meters from the road on Tuesday evening. The injured have been identified as Prakash Budhathoki, aged 18, Fawa Khola from Phungling Municipality-11, and Bikram Limbu, aged 22, of the same ward, according to District Police Office, Taplejung. Similarly, 61-year-old, Purnahang Limbu, and Sipan Limbu, aged 21 of Sikaincha Rural Municipality-3 were also injured “All the four injured are in critical condition, therefore, they are referred to a well-equipped hospital outside of the district for further treatment,” said Kushram Karki, Information Co-ordination Officer, also Police Inspector at District Police Office, Taplejung. The tractor driver, Ratna Bahadur Limbu, aged 23, of Fawa Khola in Phungling Municipality-11, has been arrested and further investigation is underway, said Police Inspector Karki.
It has also urged the stakeholders concerned to refrain from aggravating the dispute by turning minor issues in the vote-counting into a major issue, creating a problem demanding a recount of votes at the time when the final results of the vote count are about to be announced and from seeking to have a recount of votes in case of the narrow margin of votes between candidates just when the counting is over and the results are to be announced, as these sorts of activities create obstructions in the counting of votes in the stipulated time.
