The 70th World Leprosy Day is being marked today by organizing different programmes under the theme of “Act Now. End Leprosy”. The World Leprosy Day is observed on the last Sunday of January every year.
Furniture shop gutted in fire
A furniture shop owned by local Bikash Bhattarai is gutted in a fire that occurred on Saturday evening. Most of the furniture pieces have been destroyed in the fire that occurred at Balaji Furnishing shop at Damak Municipality-6 in Jhapa. A large number of tables, chairs and other goods relating to furniture and furnishing are destroyed in the fire.
