Vehicles ferrying apples stranded after highway blockage in Karnali
The vehicles carrying locally produced apples worth millions of rupees have been stranded after the Karnali Highway remained disrupted for four days. Vehicular movement along the highway has been obstructed by landslides at various sections such as Gagane Khola of Kalikot, and Mode, Malachaur of Dailekh.
59 died, over 5.4mln people affected by flood in Bangladesh
The death toll from the recent flood in 11 districts has risen to 59 with five more deaths till Saturday, according to the report of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry. Of the fresh fatalities, four were reported from Feni while one was from the Noakhali district.
