Lumbini, Aug 31: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel has said all sides including people's representatives, civil society and locals need to work together to make Butwal a financial capital.

Finance Minister Paudel said it during a discussion on how the Lumbini Province Hospital's services could be expanded and quality ensured. He discussed with hospital development committee, hospital administration and department chiefs.

The development here has strong links to quality service the province hospital provides, he reminded, urging all sides concerned to act accordingly.

It is time to devote to development and prosperity of Butwal city.

The Minister hoped after the completion of a 12-floor modern building of the hospital, it would indeed be a stride. The government would not let budget shortage for the ongoing construction, he assured.

He further reminded that only building is not enough, smooth management, able workforce and availability of modern medical equipment are equally essential.

On the occasion, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chet Narayan Acharya, also urged the hospital administration to ensure quick and quality service delivery.

Hospital development committee chairman Ajay Man Shrestha vowed timely completion of the modern building of the provincial hospital.

He however said limited workforce and resources were hampering timely service delivery at the health facility.

On behalf of the department chiefs, Dr Barsha Thapa, informed that the hospital had not sufficient human resources. There were threefold more service seekers than the patient-doctors ratio, which is a severe burden, she added. (RSS)
