PM commends TU for implementing academic calendar
Kathmandu, July 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has commended the officials of Tribhuvan University for implementing the academic calendar. PM Prachanda thanked the University during a meeting with TU Vice Chancellor Dr Keshar Jung Baral, Registrar Dr Kedar Prasad Rijal and Rector Dr Khadga KC at his private residence at Khumaltar today. On the occasion the PM thanked the University office-bearers for endorsing from the TU Executive Council the basis and criteria for appointment of the university's officials, the Prime Minister's secretariat stated."The positive change can be felt in the nation only by bringing qualitative change in the university. Important reforms have been made in the TU in areas such as appointment of office-holders through open competition and academic calendar, among other areas. This has given an encouraging message. I express the confidence that these initiatives will be implemented in the future as well," he said.During the meeting, the TU officials said historic works have taken place in the education sector and in the university reforms during Prime Minister Prachanda 's term in office, pledging to work intensely with full dedication in the TU's improvement.(RSS)
