Subedi appointed TRN's Acting Managing Editor

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, April 15: Ritu Raj Subedi has been appointed as the Acting Managing Editor of The Rising Nepal, the English-language daily of Gorkhapatra Corporation, effective from April 16 until further arrangements are made. Subedi, who is an Executive Editor at Level 10, has been working as the head of the Features Section of the daily.

Born in Kamalamai Municipality-10 of Sindhuli on October 21, 1971, Subedi did his Master's in English literature from Tribhuvan University in 1994. He started his journalism career from Naya Pailo, a provincial weekly from Janakpur in 1991.  He took basic journalism training conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka in 2003.

He participated in the South Asian Journalist Fellowship and the Korean Press Foundation Fellowship in Seoul in 2006. Subedi has attended and covered various international events, including WTO Summits held in Geneva and Hong Kong. He has been a columnist of this daily for more than one-and-a-half decades.
