Myagdi, April 4: Training on hand tractor maintenance has been conducted for the students of Dhaulagiri Secondary School in Beni Municipality-4, Singa.
The Dhaulagiri Secondary School has conducted training for students on hand tractor maintenance used in farming to hone their vocational skills as part of Beni Municipality's 'We Can, We Do' programme.
A 19-day training on hand tractor maintenance was conducted for 20 students of classes 8, 9, and 11, informed chairperson of the school management committee and ward chair Ana Bahadur Khadka (Bhagwan).
"We have imparted training during the post-exam free time to prepare human resource in the village to repair hand tractors, which are used as an alternative to oxen in farming", he said.
Ward chair Khadka further said, "The skill-enhancing training has been designed and delivered to inspire students for a profession or business as well as in daily life".
Earlier, students were provided with training in mushroom farming, hospitality, painting, and weaving mats.
Beni Municipality mayor Surat KC informed that the 'We Can, We Do' programme was implemented to teach skills to students studying at the secondary level in 16 schools. The programme aims to link students and education with skills and labour".
The municipality has allocated a budget Rs 100,000 each for 16 schools in the current fiscal year to conduct skills-based training such as house wiring, plumbing, hair cutting, hospitality, cooking, and pressure cooker repair, among others. (RSS)
