RSP leads vote counts under PR system in Parsa

Parsa, March 10: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has emerged as the largest political party in Parsa district by getting the highest votes under the proportional representation system. 

Under the first past-the-post electoral system, the party's candidates won all four HoR seats from the district. 

Chief Returning Officer Gayatri Prasad Regmi said that the RSP received 34,463 votes under the PR system in constituency no. 1, while Nepali Congress (NC) managed to get 8,267 votes and UML got 9,231 votes.

Likewise, the RSP secured 34,918 votes under the PR system out of a total 67,107 votes cast, the Office of the Chief Returning Officer said. From this constituency, NC got 10,340 votes and UML secured 8,585 votes.

Similarly, the RSP obtained 24,158 votes under the proportional electoral system from constituency no. 3. The UML secured 6,168 votes and the NC garnered 8,650 votes, while the Nepali Communist Party bagged 1,195 votes in Parsa district.

According to the Office, the RSP also led the vote counts under the PR system in constituency 4. The party garnered 30,389 votes while NC and UML collected 11,512 votes and 9,935 votes, respectively.   (RSS)
