Five days to HoR election: 1,061 complaints resolved

Kathmandu, Feb 28: As many as 1,076 complaints have been lodged before the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committees and Monitoring Officers. 

According to the Election Commission, out of the complaints received, 1,061 or 99 percent have been resolved. 

Provincially, the highest numbers of complaints were received in Lumbini Province with 244 complaints, while the least were received in Sudurpashchim Province with 96. 

Of the complaints received, 97 were in writing and 979 were received via telephone, SMS, and other sources. 

The Commission stated that most of the complaints involved the use of banners and flags larger than the prescribed size. 

Similarly, complaints were also received regarding misuse of social media and noise pollution caused by DJ mikes. 

Additionally, there were complaints about teachers, staff, and local representatives engaging in promotional activities, displaying flags in public places and vehicles, and using vehicles without permission. (RSS)
