Mahendranagar (Dhanusha): Nepali Congress leader and contender from constituency no 3 of Dhanusha district, Bimalendra Nidhi, has said the national responsibility at present is to bring the constitution back on track. For it to happen, unity among all political parties is essential, he stressed.

Speaking at a press meet organized in Janakpurdham on Friday, leader Nidhi admitted political instability and rising disenchantment to the system. He expressed worry over the weaknesses in enforcement of federal system and underlined the need for bringing the constitution back on track with the unity among all political parties.

Robust coordination among three-tiers of government is imperative to correct the weakness in enforcement of constitution, he said, reminding, "Constitution is the best document we have brought, but honesty and commitment are must for its effective implementation. In order for speeding up the development works and ensuring citizens' rights, we should adhere to the constitution's words and spirits."

According to the NC leader, reinforcing federalism, inclusion, secularism and democratic republic could be ensured through institutionalization. Rather than making unnecessary comments on constitution, its successful enforcement is the need of hour, he reiterated. "Good governance, transparency and public accountability should be prioritized. However, economic prosperity is impossible without political stability," Nidhi viewed.

In response to a journalist's query, leader Nidhi said all sides should move ahead in a collaborative way for development works, employment creation and modernization of agriculture in Madhes Province. (RSS)
