By Shankar KC, Salyan, Feb 26: The body of a young woman who went missing after jumping from a bridge over the Bheri River in Salyan has been recovered after seven days.
According to the District Police Office Salyan, the body was found on the riverbank in the Botechaur area of Surkhet.
Police said that 21-year-old Pushpa Singh, who had gone missing after jumping from a concrete bridge over the Bheri River at Jadagauda in Bangad Kupinde Rural Municipality–1 on February 20, was found dead on Thursday morning.
Pushpa was the wife of 30-year-old Tridev Malla, a resident of Baruwa village in Tulsipur–6, Dang district.
The District Police Office Salyan stated that her body was recovered after continuous search efforts and was identified by her family members.
A team of divers from the Armed Police Force, along with a technical team, had been involved in the search operation.
Pushpa had come to her maternal home in Bangad Kupinde Municipality–6, Chautara.
She reportedly jumped into the river while taking photos with her husband on the bridge.
