By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 20: The release date of Chameliko Poi has been postponed.
The film, directed by Everest Surya Bohara, was earlier scheduled to be released on Ram Nawami, March 27.
However, according to a press statement issued on Thursday, the decision to delay the release was made due to the country’s current political situation and the electoral environment.
Produced under the banner of Dhan Laxmi Cine Makers, a new release date for Chameliko Poi will be announced soon.
In a video message released alongside the press statement, producer Ramnarayan Upadhyaya expressed gratitude to director Bohara’s team for completing the film on time with great dedication. The statement also mentioned that, following the buzz generated by the recently unveiled first-look poster, the team is now waiting for a peaceful environment to release the film.
The story is written by director Bohara himself, with the screenplay by Shivam Adhikari and cinematography by Sher Bahadur Tamang. The producers are Sunita Sapkota and Ramnarayan Upadhyaya. The executive producers are Uday Bikram Rana, Ritu Malla Thakuri and Kapil Acharya.
Actors including Narayan Tripathi, Surakshya Panta, Mukun Bhusal, Wilson Bikram Rai, Rabindra Jha, Prem Dev Giri, Ramnarayan Upadhyaya, Ganesh Gautam, Ansu Maharjan, Babin Rai and among others have done the film. The film will be distributed by RR Films.
