blog

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 15: An eye specialist, Prof. Dr. Sabina Shrestha, spends her free time pursuing creative interests. While being active in teaching medical education, she also manages time to express her inner emotions through poetry, short stories, singing, acting, and painting.

Her second solo art exhibition, ‘Antarman ko Prasphutan,’ which began on January 10, concluded on Wednesday at the Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal.

Her first exhibition was held in 2022. The exhibition was inaugurated on Saturday by senior artist Hari Prasad Rimal.

Sabina’s paintings mainly focus on human sensitivity, contemporary political realities, nature, love, compassion, a fascination with beauty, and aspects of child psychology.

The exhibition featured 125 artworks created over the past four years using the acrylic medium.

Her works also suggest a growing inclination toward abstraction.

Active in literature as well, Shrestha has published three poetry collections, a biographical book titled ‘Euta Jeevan Chhamera Herda,’ and a book based on interviews with 102 inmates titled ‘Akathya ko Pratidhwani.’

The profits from the sale of artworks at the exhibition will be used for social work through the organisation Professional Support Service Nepal.
