of the Gorkhapatra Corporation Siraj Khan has been awarded with national honour
for foregrounding the issues of persons living with disabilities through news
media.
Journalist Khan was honoured amid a ceremony organized
here by National Federation of the Disabled, Nepal, on the occasion of the 34th
International Disability Day.
Minister for
Communication and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, and deputy mayor of
the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol, handed over the honour letter
while putting on him the Dosalla shawl.
In the programme presided over by chairman of National
Federation of the Disabled, Devidatta Acharya, Minister Kharel and deputy mayor
Dangol handed over awards to other individuals including Pyuthan based
journalist Jumansingh KC for their contribution in the domain of disability.
