Kathmandu, Nov 26: Chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has said one-door policy was required to spur industrial activities in the country.
At a programme organized by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply on the occasion of the 11th National Industry Day on Tuesday, Chairman Dhakal complained that for the industrialists to carry out similar sort of activities, they are forced to visit various government offices, creating unnecessary hassles and consuming time. It is harassing and disheartening to the investors and entrepreneurs, he added.
"There are many government institutions dealing with the works of similar nature, which does not help in creating an industry-friendly atmosphere," he said, underlining the need for adopting one-door policy. He said the September 8-9 protest in the country dented national economy, so it is urgent to provide individual and industrial security by the State. If the investment eludes safety, it is impossible to secure additional money. Export market is worrying, so government needs continuing financial grants.
However, the business leader observed positively that the government set up a fund to promote startups and innovation. "FNCCI is ready to cooperate with government for creating employments through the development of entrepreneurship," Dhakal vowed. (RSS)
