Minister Kharel off to Korea to participate in 'Global ICT Leadership Forum'

Kathmandu, Nov 11: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel today has departed to South Korea to attend the '11th Global ICT Leadership Forum' to be held in Seoul.     

Minister Kharel left for the South Korean capital, Seoul, this evening to participate in the ICT leadership forum to be organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of Korea and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) on November 12 (Wednesday).     

Minister Kharel is accompanied by his personal secretary Uddhab Bhattarai.     

The forum will have two sessions under the theme 'Digital and AI Transformation: Strategies and Challenges and Global Cooperation for Sustainable Digital Future'.     

The ministers and policy-makers from Nepal along with Bhutan Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Cambodia, Lao, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Uzbekistan are scheduled to participate in the forum 'Achieving the SDGs and a Future' under the theme 'Digital and AI Transformation: Advancing the SDGs and a Sustainable Global Future'.     

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and other international organizations are also anticipated to participate in the forum, it is informed.     

Minister Kharel is scheduled to return home on November 15.(RSS)
