Kathmandu, Nov 8: Nepal has lost to Sri Lanka by 3 wickets in the Hong Kong International Sixes tournament.
In the match held at Mong Kok, Hong Kong earlier this morning, Nepal, who won the toss today and elected to bat first, scored 86 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted six overs.
For Nepal, openers Sandeep Jora scored 39 and Lokesh Bam scored 31 runs unbeaten.
For the bowling side, Tharindu Ratnayake took 2 wickets while Lahiru Samarakun and Lahiru Madushanka took one wicket each.
In reply, Sri Lanka achieved the target of 87 runs in 5.3 overs, losing three wickets. Dhananjaya Lakshman scored 36 runs unbeaten and Nimesh Bimukhi scored 33 runs unbeaten.
For Nepal, Rupesh Singh took two wickets while Lokesh Bam took one wicket.
This is the third consecutive defeat that Nepal has suffered in the tournament so far. Prior to this, Nepal lost to South Africa by 4 wickets and to Afghanistan by 17 runs. (RSS)
