Kathmandu, Nov 7: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has asserted that adhering to the Constitution and acting in accordance with it is the essence of democracy.
During an interaction with scholars held today by the UML Central Department of Education and Human Resources, party Chair and former Prime Minister Oli termed the establishment of the government under the 'guise of theory of necessity' and the subsequent dissolution of parliament following the Gen-Z as unconstitutional.
"Our party firmly believes that it is unconstitutional for a former Chief Justice to assume any executive position other than that of the National Human Rights Commission," he stated.
A government cannot operate in an arbitrary and unconstitutional manner by disregarding the legitimate mandate, Chairman Oli said and stressed on the necessity of reinstating the House of Representatives (HoR) to find a resolution for the nation.(RSS)
