Bhattarai suggests institutionalization of Gen Z demands

Kathmandu, Nov 6: Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has called on representatives of the Gen Z groups to institutionalize the demands they raised during the demonstration.     

During a political dialogue held between the Nepal Socialist Party (Naya Shakti) and the Gen Z groups, Dr Bhattarai, who is the founding chairman of the party, observed the Gen Z movement reflects the collective voice of new generation, so this voice needs institutionalization through the current government.     

"It is imperative to formally sign an agreement with the government to make historic this transformative movement," he stated, adding, "If it is not institutionalized, it suffers losing its aura and importance." Dr Bhattarai also addressed various inquiries from the Gen Z representatives, noting that the constitution has shortcomings for his party's had little influence during its drafting.     

The leader asserted it is now up to Gen Zs how they complete this constitution. Party coordinator Durga Sob highlighted that the party had previously engaged in discussions on social issues and now support the transformative direction set by the Gen Z movement, function as an alternative political force.     

During the event, the Gen Z leaders, including Santen Rai, Prabhat Labh, Arnav Chaudhary, Bikas Rasaili, Amit Khanal Urja, Pradip Pandey and Majid Ansari, put forth their views on Gen Z protest and unfolding political development in the country.(RSS)
