Newly appointed health minister urges to refrain from disrupting election

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct.27: Newly appointed Minister for Health and Population (MoHP) Dr  Sudha Gautam has urged all political parties not to try to disrupt the election.

She said so after meeting with the injured who sustained injuries during the Gen Z protest, and are undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu on Monday.

She drew the attention of all concerned not to protest in the name of disrupting the election.

Minister Gautam said that there is no need to continue opposing the government, for it is focused on the election.

Mentioning that the injured patients had drawn her attention to the irregularities and conditions at the hospital, and pledged to work on improving the hospital based on their suggestions.

Minister Gautam said, "It is tough to see the condition of the patients. I urge the country not to engage in protests and request that those who oppose the government and attempt to disrupt the elections refrain from doing so. The essence of Gen Z protest was to be free from distortions and injustices. For that, we should all continue to work in that direction, accepting the positive suggestions that have come. I will show transparency in my work."

Minister Gautam also inquired about the condition of those injured in the Gen Z movement at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, Kathmandu.

During that time, she said that the hospital treatment has given the best of the injured. 

At the same time, Minister Gautam stressed that the sacrifices of the martyrs and injured of Gen Z should not go to vain.
