Godawari (Lalitpur), Sept 7: CPN (UML) Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reiterated to amend the constitution and bring about reforms in the electoral system as per the agreement signed between the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML).
Prime Minister Oli made such views while responding to the queries on the political report on the last day of the UML's Second Statute Congress in the Sunrise Conference Centre in Godawari, Lalitpur.
The PM said that the incumbent government was formed on the basis of the seven-point agreement and the points of agreement were gradually being implemented.
"National unity, good governance, and development work are based on equality," Prime Minister Oli said.
He stated that many issues have been elaborated in the political proposal and the commitments will be implemented with maturity.
Mentioning that the UML has a glorious history, a credible present, and a promising future, Chairman Oli questioned the leaders and activists as to why they had not spoken or written against the 'populist' politics. He instructed the party leaders at the provincial and local levels to work with integrity. Chairman Oli said, "Our friends in the provincial and local levels must work in such a way that there are no flaws. We are on a great mission, so let us work firmly on this."
He emphasized that a distributive budget will not lead to the country's development, and that an appropriate budget management for the development of all sectors must be ensured.
Prime Minister Oli further said that it was the era of information technology and its maximum use should be linked to income generation.
Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need for stability and a stable government for the development and argued that there would be significant developments in the country if the UML were given a chance to govern the nation for a decade. Chairman Oli urged the party leaders and cadres to get united and work for the nation with a strong determination and strength. He also urged the non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) to contribute to the national economy.(RSS)
