By Sudha Dev, Saptari, Aug.12:The death toll in the Sunsari road accident has reached five, where vehicles collided head-on along the East-West Highway in Bhokraha Narsingha Rural Municipality-3 in Sunsari district on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Shankar Mandal, 35, of Mahadewa rural municipality in Saptari, Laxman Sada, 70, of Koshi rural municipality-6 and Ashok Yadav, 40, of Biratnagar-10 in Morang, 60-year-old Jibachha Mahatma of Goithi, Trihut Rural Municipality of Saptari and his 52 year p;d wife Anardebi Yadav and 4-year-old Ashok Yadav of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-10
The accident happened at Bokraha Narsingh rural municipality-3 in Sunsari district after a bus (Me 1 Kha 1799) heading to Diktel from Kakadbhitta in Jhapa district and a micro bus (Province 2-01-001 Ja 0047) coming from the opposite direction collided with each other this morning.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Global Cardio and Neuro Hospital, Bhokraha, as well as Golden Hospital, Biratnagar. Police have taken bus driver Gopal Adhikari of Arjundhara Municipality-1 from Jhapa under control for necessary action. (RSS)
There were 28 passengers onboard, five died, and 23 are undergoing treatment.
The District Police Office, Sunsari, said that three people have been discharged as their condition is normal.
