By Krishna Bahadur Dhami, Darchula, Aug: 12:Darchula police have arrested a woman with the Himalayan herb forest garlic(Allium ursinum).
According to Information Officer and Police Inspector of the District Police Office, Darchula, Chhatra Bahadur Rawat, A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force deployed for security at the bridge connecting Nepal-India bridge located at the district headquarters, Khalanga arrested 31-year-old Dhana Dhami, of Septi, Naugad Rural Municipality-4, CPTI, while illegally bringing Himalayan herb forest garlic to Nepal from India.
Information Officer Rawat said that the police recovered five kilograms of wild garlic from her on Monday evening.
The woman was arrested and detained while police seized wild garlic, which she was importing from India to Nepal without a collection permit (permit).
He said that since the district headquarters area falls under the jurisdiction of the Forest Office, the woman will be handed over to the Division Forest Office, Darchula on Tuesday after completing the necessary procedures.
Meanwhile, Laxmi Raj Joshi, Office Chief of the Division Forest Office, Darchula, said that wild garlic can be collected and transported only after paying revenue and obtaining a collection permit.
