Kathmandu, Aug 8: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said self-reliant economy is socialism-oriented and it helps spur development and sustainable growth.
Inaugurating a convention of industrialists and entrepreneurs close to his party here Friday, Nepal viewed only industrial production would create a robust economy. "Proper balance in import-export is imperative as per socialist policies and programmes," he reminded, adding that country reaps benefits after it increase exports.
According to him, the capital scattered requires concentration on industrial development and investment growth. Effective role of production and service sectors is must in Nepal at present, the former PM underlined.
Moreover, he asserted socialism is only tool to tackle exploitation, oppression, corruption and employment. Proper implementation of socialism warrants a unified role of leftist, progressive patriotic, democratic and socialist forces, according to him.
Social security schemes are other features of socialism, he said, adding that agriculture, infrastructures and industry are the areas awaiting investment for growth and development in country.
Chairman Nepal argued time has come for ensuring socioeconomic transformation with social justice, equality and inclusiveness.(RSS)
