Member of executive committee of Balara Municipality dies after being hit by motorcycle

By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, Aug.8: A woman died after being hit by a motorcycle in Chhatauna, Balara Municipality-11, Sarlahi on Friday.

Chandadevi Baitha, aged 55, of the same area, died after being hit by an Indian motorcycle (BR 30 K 4694). Baitha was a member of the executive committee of Balara Municipality.

Police said that she was declared dead by doctors after receiving primary treatment at the Achalgadh Primary Health Center in Balara and then taken to the Provincial Hospital Malangwa.

The motorcycle driver, Jitendra Thakur, aged 35, of Balara Municipality-11, was also seriously injured in the accident.

"The seriously injured Thakur was referred to Birgunj after receiving general treatment at the Provincial Hospital, Malangwa," said Balistar Singh, Information Officer and Police Inspector of the District Police Office, Sarlahi.
