Kakrebihar (Surkhet), Aug 7: Thirteen people of Jajarkot district have gone missing in a flashflood that occurred at Harsil area of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand State of India on Tuesday afternoon.
All of them are from Kushe Rural Municipality-2 in Jajarkot district.
Issuing a press release on Thursday, Chairperson of Kushe Rural Municipality Hari Chandra Basnet stated that the locals who had gone in India for job have remained out of contact after the flood.
"Those 13 people are out of contact with their families after the flood," he added.
Chairman Basnet has requested to the Foreign Ministry to search the missing ones, stating that the some of the locals from other wards in the rural municipality are also out of contact in the flooding area in Uttarkashi..
Chief District Officer of Jajarkot, Mekh Bahadur Mangrati said Kushe Rural Municipality shared about the missing of some local people in the flashflood.
"I have sent a circular to all local levels and police posts in the district asking them to collect the names of the Jajarkot folks who went missing at Harsil area and have also informed the Home Ministry about this," mentioned CDO Mangrati.(RSS)
