Kathmandu, July 31: Five different parliamentary committees of the federal parliament are meeting today.
The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee under the House of Representatives is meeting at 11:30 am to discuss the Bill designed to amend some land-related laws in Nepal, 2082. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari, officials of the Land Commission, experts in the field of land, forests and law are expected to take part in the discussion.
Similarly, the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee is meeting at 1:00 pm to discuss the suggestions related to the Sixth National Action Plan on Human Rights and the Nepal Lawyers Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081.
Furthermore, the Statute Management Committee, Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee and the Federalism Enablement and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly are meeting today. The Good Governance Committee is meeting at 11:30 am to discuss the works done by the Water Supply ministry to solve the drinking water problems seen in various areas across the country, including Madhes Province.
The meeting of the Legislative Management Committee is being held at 1:00 pm to hold clause-wise discussion on the Water Resources Bill, 2081. The National Concerns Committee is meeting at 11:00 am to discuss the progress of national pride projects under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, problems faced and efforts to solve them, among others.(RSS)
