By Bomlal Giri, Nawalpur, July 30: Two people have gone missing after jumping into the Narayani River on the same day.
According to the District Police Office, Nawalpur, 15-year-old Kishor Adesh Shrestha, of Kusmughat, Gaindakot Municipality-5, and 59-year-old Mitha Giri, a permanent resident of Haldev Rural Municipality-1, Nuwakot district, went missing after jumping into the Narayani River.
"Shrestha and Giri went missing on Tuesday morning and Tuesday night, respectively, after jumping from the bridge on the Gaidakot-2 side of the Narayani River connecting Narayanghat and Gaindakot," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhu Nepal, Information Officer at the District Police Office.
The Nepal Police and Armed Police Force teams are continuing their search for the two, but have not yet found them, police said.
Police said Shrestha left his bicycle and slippers on the bridge and jumped into the river.
DSP Nepal said that 15-year-old Adesh, a student of grade 9, left his house early in the morning without telling anyone.
Police said that his father, mother and brother have been living in Japan.
