By Nagendra Kumar Karn/Mahesh Kumar Das, Matihani (Mahottari), July 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inaugurated the newly built maternity hospital of Matihani Municipality-6, Mahottari district.
The bridge was built by a special grant provided by the National Planning Commission and Matihani Municipality with an investment of Rs 200 million.
It is said that with the inauguration of the five-bed maternity hospital built south of Jaralhawa Gachhi village in Matihani Municipality-6, women giving birth in this area will benefit.
Mayor of the Matihani Municipality Hari Prasad Mandal said that the aim was to build a 50-bed hospital in the Matihani Municipality, but there is a budget constraint for it.
The newly built maternity hospital will benefit the health of both mothers and children.
The newly constructed maternity hospital has well-equipped rooms, including an operation room, NICU room, delivery room, waiting room, OPD room, pharmacy room, nursing room, toilet, and interrogation room.
The residents of Matihani said that with the construction of the maternity hospital, surgeries will be better for newborns.
On the occasion of the inauguration, Mahottari Constituency No. 3 Member of the House of Representatives and Central Chairman of the People's Socialist Party, (Nepal), Mahantha Thakur, Minister for Labor and Employment, Sharat Singh Bhandari, Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Saroj Kumar Yadav, Minister for Education and Culture Rani Sharma Tiwari, among others, were present.
It is reported that the building, handed over the contract to Shree Kalika Construction Private Limited, Bharatpur, Chitwan, at a cost of Rs 18, 800, 000, was completed in January, 2025.
