The wooden bridge built by locals was washed away after the water flow in the river increased due to daily downpours.

Kali Bahadur Mahatara of Rip village in Sarkegad-2 said that the wooden bridge built by locals was washed away after the water flow in the Karnali River increased in Khadikhet on Tuesday night.

Locals had constructed the wooden bridge using public labor, replacing the old one at that place in the month of March.

Ward chair Akhil Karki said that the wooden bridge built over the Karnali River in Khadikhet has been washed away, causing problems for the locals.

He said that even though we have reached tuin, rope or string used for crossing a river, free but we will have to go back to it.

He said that there is a need to construct a suspension bridge in Khadikhet to solve this long-term problem.

Locals said that the tuin will be constructed in two to three days.
