Kathmandu, July 23: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed high respects for Pushpalal Shrestha, the founding general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal.
On the 47th memorial day of communist leader Pushpalal, Prime Minister Oli took to his social media account to pay his heartfelt tributes to the late leader. “Today is the memorial day of Comrade Pushpalal, the founding general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal. High respects and heartfelt tributes to the revered leader Pushpalal!” Prime Minister Oli wrote.
Communist parties across the country are celebrating the 47th memorial day of Pushpalal by organizing a variety of programmes to remember his life and contributions. Born in Bhangeri of Ramechhap on 15th Asad 1981 BS, Pushpalal was the first to translate the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels into Nepali language.
The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) was first established in Nepal on 10 Baisakh 2006 BS under the leadership of Pushpalal, who was its founding General Secretary. He passed away on 7 Shrawan 2035 BS. (RSS)
