Prime Minister Oli's advisory to avoid long journeys except emergency

Kathmandu, July 20: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged all citizens to avoid long journeys unless emergency and to stay in safe places. 

He has also called for vigilance and precaution to protect against weather-related disasters. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rainfall in various parts of the country this afternoon, prompting the request to minimize travel and remain in secure locations. 

Sharing the Department’s bulletin, the Prime Minister appealed for public awareness on social media. 

“Good morning! The Department of Meteorology has predicted heavy rainfall in various parts of the country this afternoon. Let us follow the alerts issued by security agencies for necessary precautions to avoid weather-related disasters. I request everyone to avoid long journeys unless essential and to stay in safe places. I have instructed security personnel to remain on alert and be prepared for necessary safety measures,” Prime Minister Oli wrote on social media.  (RSS)
