Kathmandu, July 19: The politburo meeting of the CPN (UML) has commenced for the second day at party headquarters in Lalitpur.
The meeting is presided over by party Chairman KP Sharma Oli, said UML Publicity Department Chief, Rajendra Gautam.
The remaining politburo members would put forth their views on statute amendment proposal presented by Vice-Chairperson Bishnu Prasad Paudel. Seven politburo members had put forth their views on the proposal on Friday.
The statute amendment proposes removing 70-year age limit and two- term provision for party chairman.
Similarly, provision of 251 member central committee along with 15 office-bearers as well as three-level standing committee, politburo committee and central committee¬¬ ¬has been proposed.
The politburo meeting is scheduled to conclude today itself. The UML is organising its statute convention in Godavari-based Sunrise International Conference Centre from September 5. (RSS)
