Heavy rainfall likely in some parts of Koshi and Gandaki

Kathmandu, July 19: The influence of monsoon winds is pervasive across the country now. 

Low pressure line of the monsoon is located around the average position, the Weather Forecasting Division said. 

The current weather condition shows partial to generally cloudy atmosphere in the hilly regions of the country, while the rest of the areas remain partly cloudy. 

The Division has indicated that light to moderate rainfall is occurring at one or two places in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces. 

There will be partial to generally cloudy weather across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall, along with thunder and lightning, in some areas of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in a few places of the remaining areas. 

In some areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snow.

According to the official information, there will be partial to generally cloudy weather across the country tonight. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in many places of the Koshi Province, some places in Madhesh Province, and a few places in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, as well as a few areas in the rest of the country. 

In a few places of the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall. 

In view of potential rainfall, there is a risk of soil erosion, floods, landslides, and riverbank overflow, leading to the risk of urban and lowland areas being inundated. 

The Division has urges the general public and all concerned to take necessary precautions for safety. (RSS)
