Kathmandu, July 18: The Committee on Infrastructure Development of the House of Representatives (HoR) has directed the government to ensure the construction of a flyover or underpass as part of the second section of the Ring Road widening project in Kathmandu.
A meeting of the Committee held on Friday instructed the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to incorporate the construction of the necessary flyover or underpass at an appropriate location in the detailed project report (DPR) of the second phase of the road expansion.
Committee Chairperson Dipak Bahadur Singh also stressed the need for the prompt implementation of the second phase of the Ring Road widening project.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Debendra Dahal, pledged that works to upgrade the Kalanki–Maharajgunj section of the Ring Road will begin soon. He stated that preparations are underway to widen the 7.2-kilometer stretch along the Ring Road.(RSS)
