Child dies by drowning after falling in a ditch dug for road construction

By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, July 16: A child died after drowning by falling frozen water in a ditch dug for road construction in Janakinagar, Haripur Municipality-1, Sarlahi.

Six-year-old Sushant Yadav, son of Dinesh Yadav of Janakinagar, died after drowning. 

Police said that the boy, who had been missing since 10 AM on Tuesday, was found dead in a pit dug by a JCB for road construction around 11 PM. 

The body of the deceased child has been kept at the Provincial Hospital, Malangwa, for postmortem. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Niranjan Bhattarai of the Area Police Office Barahathawa said that further investigation into the incident is underway.

According to DSP Bhattarai, the incident was recorded on Wednesday morning as the body was found in the middle of the night.
