Karnali, July 13: The District Police Office, Surkhet has been adopting strict measures to control criminal incidents and activities in the district.
As a result, during the past two months, police have seized about seven kilograms of banned drugs and have taken 44 people, including five women and 39 men under control. According to Chief of District Police Office, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Raj Shahi, during the two months, 35 grams of brown sugar, 17 grams 360 mg of hashish, five kgs of opium, 240 grams of marijuana and 362 tablets of banned drugs have been seized.
Similarly, 21 people have been arrested on the charge of indulging in gambling while three hotel operators were arrested for carrying out prostitution, Superintendent of Police Shahi said. (RSS)
