By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 8: Swiss Federal Foreign Minister Ignazio Daniel Giovanni Cassis paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday.
The meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, focused on strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries and continuing cooperation in the field of development.
Minister Cassis expressed his ongoing support for Nepal’s development, emphasising areas such as strengthening federalism, transitional justice, climate change, and disaster risk management.
Prime Minister Oli noted that while Nepal had experienced a prolonged period of violent and unstable politics, the situation has gradually improved. He highlighted that the current government, formed with the goal of development, good governance, and the protection of the democratic system, is working in collaboration with the two major political parties. He also extended his gratitude to the Swiss government for its unwavering support in Nepal's development.
Swiss Ambassador to Nepal, Dr. Daniel Meulli, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were present at the meeting.
Swiss Minister Cassis also met Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who is also looking after the portfolio of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
