Gorkhapatra Corporation held marathon to mark anniversary

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 4: Gorkhapatra Corporation held 5 KM open marathon today to celebrate 126th anniversary Gorkhapatra National Daily and 64 anniversary of Gorkhapatra Corporation.

The marathon was inaugurated by Olympic Athletic of Nepal, Santoshi Shrestha.

Around 150 athletic from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and representatives of various corporation participated in the marathon.

Sanjay Shrestha from Tribhuvan Army Club secured first place completed the marathon in 14 minutes 54 second. Sushil Kumar Shrestha from Tribhuvan Army Club secured 2nd place in 14 minutes and 55 second.

Similarly, Umesh Thapa secured third place in 14 minutes and 14 second.  Akal Thapa secured 4th place in 14 minutes and 32 second and Ajay Pandey of Lumbini secured 5th place. 

In the women marthon, Purna Laxmi Neupane of Tribhuvan Army Club secured first place in 19 minutes 24 second. Srijana Pandey from Tribhuvan Army Club secured 2nd place in 19 minutes 29 second. Susan Karki secured third place in 20 minutes 49 second, Sita Thapa of Nepal Police secured 4th place in 21 minutes 25 second and Prajita Pulami of Nepal Police secured 5th place in 21 minutes 20 second.
